Heartwood Institute - Lodge

Heartwood Institute – Lodge

Heartwood Institute is located in the mountains, East of Garberville, CA. This remote location is approximately 5 hours North of San Francisco and 2½ hours South of Eureka and Arcata. 1 hour East of Garberville.  The roads are windy and narrow for the last 20 miles and the last 4 miles is a county maintained dirt road.

The 200-acre campus offers guests quiet mountains, open meadows, diverse forests, amazing sunrise/ sunsets and starry nights.  The facilities include several classrooms of varying sizes including a large yoga/movement studio, lodge-style dining hall with certified kitchen, healing arts library, saline pool, hot tub and sauna, straw bale temple, bodywork treatment rooms, organic gardens, hiking trails, coin-operated laundry facilities, general store with postal and internet access available, and many places for quiet contemplation.  Guests experience clean air, spring water, diverse wild life, expansive views and the peaceful atmosphere that comes from such a location.

Three organic vegetarian meals a day are offered from our historic lodge with a newly remodeled certified kitchen.  For this special event there will also be daily pizza and other baked goods from our on-site brick oven.  There is also a small “community kitchen” for preparing specialty meals.  If storing food in the communal space, please be sure to label all of your food and bring it in a small plastic bin for space consideration.

Our saline pool is clothing optional, we do ask that when children are present bathing suits are worn.   This also applies to hot tub and sauna use.

Remember to bring sturdy shoes and great working flash light with extra batteries.

Bright blessings from the residents of Heartwood Institute. We look forward to hosting this amazing healing festival.

Jackson WellSprings

The WellSprings is a 30 acre natural hot springs spa and events center located 2.5 miles from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in beautiful Ashland, Oregon.

The WellSprings spa, event facilities and gardens offer a healing environment to relax, enjoy and gather. Home to the Health Research Institute, a non-profit sponsoring educational, botanical and environmental restoration projects, WellSprings is dedicated to promoting optimal human and environmental health.
Revered for centuries by First Nation tribes as a ceremonial and birthing site, the warm artesian waters on the shores of Bear Creek were dedicated by Eugenia Jackson in 1862 to “natatorium and sanitarium purposes.”  Renowned for its healing mineral waters at the turn of the Twentieth Century, Jackson Hot Springs was one of several mineral spring developments that attracted thousands each year to Ashland to “partake of the water.”  One hundred years after opening its doors to the public, the warm artesian springs continue to offer relaxation and rejuvenation to Rogue Valley residents, Shakespeare enthusiasts, and visitors traveling the I-5 corridor.
**Special guest at the Ashland location: Adey Bell joins the ranks of such solo female virtuosos as Tori Amos, Kate Bush and Joni Mitchell, blending classically influenced piano composition with raw lyrical reflective intimacy. The daughter of two concert organists, and a consummate performer, she lures audiences with her textured, melodic piano and warms them with a voice as gritty with soul as it is soaring with ambiance and mystery.
**Special guest at the Ashland location: Diane Horbacewicz offers Dancing Prayers, Ecstatic Dance: A Safe & Sacred Space to move and just “Be” . . . In these challenging, exciting and fast paced times on the planet . . . a space to be nourished and supported . . . where there is nothing to do, and nothing to fix . . . allowing any doing to arise out of our “being” . . . and where we “remember” the incredible Divine Beings that we are! In Ecstatic Dance, a free form movement practice, there are no steps to learn or choreography to do. We allow the music to be our guide and allow our body to take us on a Sacred journey. Music and dancing helps us harmonize together and helps create a unified field that is so vital for the health and survival of our communities. Come offer your “Dancing Prayers” for the good of all beings! No experience necessary.
